Boost Fertility! 7 things you can do at home to improve your fertility

Boost Fertility I 7 things you can do at home to improve your fertility

There are several factors that may play a role in affecting fertility. Here are 7 things you can do at home to boost your fertility and increase the chances of getting pregnant.

Exercise and maintain a healthy weight

Is your body ready to carry the extra weight of a baby? Being both underweight or overweight will make it more difficult to conceive and can be connected to irregular menstrual cycles. Make sure that you maintain a healthy weigh and work on your body to prepare it for conception by exercising regularly.

Reduce caffeine

Caffeine has been linked to lower chances of conceiving and increased chances of miscarriage. Try to be moderate with your caffeine consumption – in general 1 to 2 cups of coffee per day are considered ok.

Give up the alcohol and quit smoking

Well, a night out might look a little different than before; switch your cocktail to a mock tail and give up the smoking. Excessive alcohol consumption and smoking decreases the chances of pregnancy and it makes sense to reduce alcohol when trying to conceive and quit smoking.

Take a prenatal multivitamin

Folic acid is extremely important when trying to conceive. When trying to get pregnant, start taking a multivitamin including folic acid and other essential vitamins and minerals.

Reduce Stress Levels

Stress will negatively impact chances of conception, so try to relax and reduce stressful situations. For example, start your day by 5 minutes relaxing yoga and get ready for bed an hour earlier than usual with a cup of tea and a good book.

Reduce exposure to BPA plastics

BPA is a chemical found in some plastics and is known to create hormonal imbalance by mimicking your estrogen. You can lower your exposure to BPA by avoiding buying food that comes in plastic jars, avoiding cooking or microwaving your food in plastic containers, and by avoiding plastic beverage bottles unless labeled as BPA-free.

Diet

Last but not least your diet will play a huge role in maintaining a healthy weight, lifestyle and regulating hormones – but this is a whole chapter itself so see the link below to our video about Fertility friendly food and what to eat when trying to get pregnant.
